9 Plants to keep in your Home Office

Jade plants need to be watered only when the soil surface appears fully dry. In case the plant leaves shed or turn brown, water more constantly. The plant needs moderate light which makes it suitable to keep in the office.

This hardy plant does not need tons of water or sun to grow. In fact, the plant only needs to be watered every two to three weeks. Always make sure the soil is fully dry before watering to prevent root spoilage.

They absorb a lot of toxins in the air of your indoors and act as a natural air cleaner. Thrives in medium to bright indirect light, preferably near a window with sheer curtains. Keep the soil moist for a lush green plant. When the plant is in its dormant stage, water it once or twice a month only. However, cut down the water supply, if the leaves begin to turn yellow. While if the leaves start to fall, water the plant more regularly.

Aloe plants are easy to grow if supplied with lots of bright light. If a desk is located near a sunny window, place the plant there. Succulents need less watering only once in 2-3 weeks. Plant your Aloe in a wide pot with a well-draining potting mix to prevent root rotting. Keep the soil on a dry side and water minimum during winters.

Philodendron Green

Whether an office is flooded with natural light or is tucked in a cozy corner, the carefree heart-shaped leaves of philodendron will add cheer with its lustrous green leaves and trailing habit, its trailing vines can grow up to 10 feet long. The plant requires regular moisture to keep its lush look. Water these plants only if the topsoil appears a little dry. Droopy leaves indicate short water conditions. Pale new leaves indicate deficient nutrition, hence feed the plant with plant food during spring and summer. Place the Philodendron plant in bright, indirect sun.

Chinese Evergreen

This is the most durable indoor plant that requires indirect sun or very little light. It can even tolerate dry air and drought. Make sure to water the plant when the soil is dry to the touch.

This plant can be a statement piece for your office if you have floor space to fill. The plant can grow just about anywhere with very low light. Water the plant when the uppermost layer of the soil is fully dry and feed it with plant food monthly.

Spider Plant

Place this plant on the corner of your office or in a hanging pot, so that its leaves can hang without disturbance. However the plant prefers indirect light, but it grows well in low light conditions as well, like your dimly-lit office. Water it often to keep the soil moist.
