The Himalayan Day

Himalaya is the highest mountain range in the world. This is the source of Asia’s major rivers like Brahmaputra,Ganga,Yamuna, Jhelum, Sutlej   & also help to regulate the climate of our planet. To preserve the Himalayan Ecosystem & Region the Government of Uttarakhand on 9 Sep 2015 officially declared the Himalayan Day.

Why do we need to save the Himalayas?

The Himalayan glaciers are melting due to global warming. What does this mean for us? The Himalayas are home to many endangered species, including the snow leopard, red panda, and the Tibetan antelope. As these mountains lose ice, the water that used to flow down into the valleys will instead run into the sea. This could cause flooding in lowland areas, which could damage crops and homes.

Water shortages

If the Himalayas melt completely, there would be no more fresh water available for drinking, agriculture, industry, even human life & hydroelectricity because Himalaya offers sustainable low carbon hydropower for the energy hungry South Asia.

Flooding

In addition to being an environmental issue, the loss of these glaciers will also affect the people who live in the region. It has been estimated that up to 40 million people depend on the Himalayas for their livelihoods.

Rising sea levels

As the ice melts, more water flows into the oceans. This means that the level of the ocean rises, threatening coastal cities with flooding.

Increased risk of landslides

If the glaciers melt completely, the world will see an increased risk of landslides. These landslides would cause massive damage to homes, roads, and other infrastructure.

More extreme weather events

As the climate changes, more extreme weather events are becoming common. This includes floods, droughts, hurricanes, tornadoes, and wildfires.

To prevent all the above mentioned adversities & to preserve the Himalayan Ecosystem & Region & to aware & encourage citizens towards Himalaya the Government of Uttarakhand on 9 Sep 2015 officially declared the Himalayan Day. We the Bloomybliss situated on the Himalayan valley deeply concern & dedicated towards the protection & to preserve the Himalayan ecosystem with the help of following an organic lifestyle which is the best solution to vitiate most of the environmental adversities.

So let’s take a pledge to make chemical free & carbon neutral world by using organic lifestyle & save our future generation from the extremely hazardous environmental difficulties .
