How to cook Moong dal
Ingredients:
- Moong dal
- Onions
- Green Chilli
- Dry Red Chili
- Oil
- Spices
Method
While pressure cooking the dal, give it two whistles and promptly discharge the pressure with a long handle spatula or under the water. Or simply cook it for one whistle and permit it to normally cool. In any case, there is a risk of overcooking the dal to a soft surface.
For tadka, take some oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, dried red chili, and asafoetida. Once the cumin seeds start turning brown add chopped onions to it. Saute till golden brown and then add ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, and tomato. Stir so it doesn’t stick. After the masala separates the oil add turmeric powder, red pepper powder, and coriander powder. Add some water to mix it properly. Once the masala is ready, add dal to it.
Adding Kasuri methi/dried fenugreek leaves along with coriander for flavor enhancement gives you a finger-licking dhuli moong dal tadka.
