Facial yoga, also known as “face exercise,” is a type of physical activity that involves specific movements and facial expressions designed to tone and tighten the muscles of the face. These exercises are believed to improve the appearance of the skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, and give the face a more youthful, glowing appearance.
Here are a few facial yoga exercises that you can try at home to improve the appearance of your skin:
- The Forehead Smoother
Place your index fingers on your forehead, just above your eyebrows. Gently smooth your skin outwards, towards your temples, while keeping your fingers on your forehead. Repeat this movement 10-20 times. - The Cheek Lift
Place your index and middle fingers on the apples of your cheeks. Gently lift your cheeks upwards, towards your ears, while keeping your fingers in place. Hold this position for a few seconds, then release. Repeat 10-20 times. - The Lip Pucker
Pucker your lips as if you were kissing. Hold this position for a few seconds, then release. Repeat 10-20 times. - The Neck Lift
Sit or stand up straight, with your shoulders relaxed. Tilt your head back slightly and look up at the ceiling. Puckering your lips, try to kiss the ceiling. Hold this position for a few seconds, then release. Repeat 10-20 times. - Jawline Sculpt
Place your index fingers under your jawline and your thumbs on your temples. Gently lift and hold for a few seconds, then release. Repeat several times. - Eye Brightener
Place your index fingers on the outer corners of your eyes and your thumbs on your temples. Gently lift and hold for a few seconds, then release. Repeat several times.
Remember to be gentle with your skin and start slowly. You can gradually increase the number of repetitions as you become more comfortable with the exercises. It’s also important to keep your skin clean and moisturized to help maintain a healthy, glowing complexion.
